Christian Meditative Poses with a Serine Music CD for Streching Exercises
69Streching with a soothing CD may sound like a new idiom; though it is a streching practice that is becoming very popular as people are looking for new ways to apply old streching disciplines especially overweight people with a new form of exercise. This form of stretching can help you to relieve stress.
Streching may help you to renew your methods of relaxation in opening doors to a new state of mind. You’ll gain a deeper perception in recognizing the freedom of the awesomness around you. The form is a union between your physical and mental forces so they work in harmony by recognizing the awesomness around you, a center apart from you, a force that you are able to tap into, through stillness.
This type of stretch stems from the practice of performing a stretching position while meditating on the awesomeness around the divinity around you. It is pleasant with soft Christian music playing at times in your free space.
Typical Yoga principles and Yoga theories are not in any way applicable for a Christian Yoga practice only the actual stretching exercises coupled with the breathing techniques. In Christian Yoga you make certain your stretches contribute to your personal wellness. You pick and choose to do the exercise routine that suit you the best. The ones that are easiest to do are the ones to choose first. This will make it easier to focus on your breathing with Christian thoughts and relaxation technique.
If you decide to practice your Christian Yoga in a room in your house, the space should be quiet and peaceful with awe-inspiring pictures of nature to remind you of the natural things around you. The soothing sounds of flowing water can help you to connect with your inner self and help you to appreciate the omnipotent power around you.
You can create a serine environment in your Christian Yoga practice area with a miniature replica of a little waterfall fountain like this Envirascape Illuminated Rock Garden Relaxation Fountain shown on the right. It has special lighting effects that can turn any room into a private sanctuary to help you deeply relax into your Christian Yoga poses.
At times you can listen to Cd’s of nature sounds to create an illusion of being out in a rainforest or on a beach with seagulls or the electrifying sounds of a rain storm. The Echo's of Nature CD listed on the right has authentically captured the unique sounds of a wilderness river, bayou, sounds of the jungle and storms.
Have a window open for fresh air or an air ionizer to ionize the air in your Yoga room . The Himalayan Salt Crystal salt lamps does a superb job in creating a peaceful hue while naturally ionizing and freshening your indoor air. They are highly recommended during a Yoga practice to create natural air freshness when practicing Christian Yoga in a closed space.
It’s not advised you have any statues in your yoga space. They’re awfully distracting and don’t adhere to the retreat setting you're trying to create in your Christian space. Christian Yoga does not pay homage any type or special statue.
Or you can choose to practice your Christian Yoga in a more natural setting such as simply your backyard. The best place to practice Christian Yoga is outdoors. The fresh outdoor air enhances the feeling of being intuitively connected with the world God created and puts you in tune with it.
In Christian Yoga you will notice that by keeping your body still you calm your spirit. Through securing your body in a pose you help your mind to concentrate. In giving your body proper rest you help your mind to relax. By breathing correctly you absorb more of the essential energy in the air.
When practicing Christian Yoga in sunlight you fortify your inner force. As a result of paying attention to the sounds of your inner self, and by giving heed to the awesomeness around you. You will notice how much more peaceful you are, and how a huge calm comes over you. This is the moment to breathe in and breathe out slowly, with a clear mind then breathe a heartfelt breath.

Real yoga is non-denominational and is focused on the spiritual. There are 8 branches of yog, such as hatha (postures and stretch), bakti (devotional and service) and others that are designed to balance all areas of life. You do not have to pray and meditate on Hindu gods to do it effectively. You can, as I agree, pray to and meditate on God and Jesus as you practice yoga. Then there is Jnana yoga which is the study and application of wisdom. Theses are just some paths of toga and there is no reason whatsoever why it can't be Christian. Practice the 8 branches and draw closer to God! By all means and delve into the wonderful mysteries of God!
"Be still and know that I am God....A Hindu friend of mine was talking to me about this very subject just the other day for he was convinced that Yogi could incorporated into a Christine lifestyle. Since I use to practice Buddhism I was a little reluctant to follow his views and yet, after reading your hub I now see how it would line up very well with Scripture! Great job!
("Christian Yoga is Yoga built on Christianity!")
I have to disagree,
"Christian Yoga" is rooted in occultism. The followers of Jesus Christ are rooted in that which opposes idolatry.
Changing the terms to "Christian" does not change Yoga, either. Just as there is no Christian Ouija board and no Christian astrology, so there is no Christian Yoga that is either truly Yoga or truly Christian.
For You have abandoned Your people, the house of Jacob, Because THEY ARE FILLED WITH INFLUENCES FROM THE EAST, And they are soothsayers like the Philistines, And they strike bargains with the children of foreigners.
Isaiah 2:6
I'm not sure what aspects you are removing from yoga to make it "Christian", but if you take the poses, breathing techniques, and asanas away, then it is not yoga at all.
Changing the terms does not change what yoga is, and putting "Christian" in front of it is an oxymoron. If you are doing just "simple exercises" then it is not yoga at all and should not be deceptively implied that it is.
The definitions of both terms are incompatible.
How can one practice an aspect or portion of Hinduism and continue to walk with Jesus Christ?
To take yoga positions, stretching, and breathing exercises are worshipful acknowledgements to Hindu god's. To take these away is not yoga at all. It either is or it isn't yoga.
"Christian Yoga" is religious syncretism.
